I would like to display Cases in Workplace/My Work in the left navigation area is CRM 2011. I checked the settings of Case entity. Workplace is selected in the areas to display. But it is still not showing in the workplace. Do I have to modify the site map? Please help

if you click on File--Options it will open up the personal setting dialog. On workspace tab--click on services. it will add the services group to the workspace. it will hace its own group services. it will not be a part of My work group.
If you want to add cases to My Work Group then you do need to edit the site map.
Here is link to sitemap editor, which will makes it very easy to modify the sitemap

2012. július 12. 6:32Hai Amreek, Individual users can modify the Workplace to add Cases through File->Options->Workplace and it will be applicable only for that particular user. Can we do the same for all the users at one shot in system level..?

Yes, just edit the sitemap to add it the "My Work" area, or make the Service area of the Workplace non-optional (so "IsProfile" is false / deselected).
Without a doubt the best tool to help you do the job:
(note as always if a user has no security role to read at least their own Cases, they won't see the navigation link)
