Does making CRM IFD imply https becomes the only supported URL

Hi all
I have a really simply question.
If you make CRM IFD enabled, does using the site via the HTTPS IFD address become the only supported way of interacting with CRM?
The reason I ask is we made our site IFD enabled several months ago, however many users continue to use the old internal address (which is just an HTTP address). Recently we have been getting many off intermittent errors with our web services failing and things like the Organisation service not responding.
Looking into this I've discovered that CRM only supports one site binding at a time (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh699671.aspx#Claims_and_IFD_requirements). Given that this has to be HTTPS in an IFD environment, does this imply that once you make your installation IFD enabled - the only way you should interact with the site is via the HTTPS/IFD URL?
I just want to make sure of this before I tell the boss we need to potentially rewrite/rework a lot of historic code that is currently (sort of) working against the old HTTP address
I hope that makes sense
Thanks to anyone who can advise

Soz all
I didn't realise it at the time but the answer to this had been posted to a similar question I asked yesterday.
The answer is basically, once your site is IFD enabled - any HTTP addresses you may have been using will probably sort of work - but are not supported.
I hope this helps someone else!
