MS Streets & Trips

2010. december 27. 19:16I've been using Streets and Trips for a number of years and am a very big fan. However, the 2009 version changed in that you could no longer create a line box over the map currently showing in order to zoom in to the specific sized area you wanted to. In 2009 you could only zoom in and out at predetrmined amounts that often show to much or too little. Do the newer versions have this feature back in?

You can still do that. The feature has never been removed, only the button on the tool bar has been removed because now the feature can be accessed as follows:
* To draw a selection rectangle, press and hold the right mouse button while moving your mouse.
* To pan the map, press and hold the left mouse button while moving your mouse.
That's how it works in your 2009 version, as well as in the current Streets and Trips 2010 .

2010. december 28. 15:21Wow; I even called the support right after getting 2009 and they said that feature was gone. Thanks so much for the info, Streets & Trips is still an awesome program after all!

You are most welcome, Steve.
The feature in now easier to use, but it also is more difficult to discover.
As a regular user of Streets & Trips, you may find our Streets and Trips forum at Laptop GPS World quite useful, too.

I remember spending about 15 minutes quite clueless when I first opened MapPoint 2009 a few years ago.. it was also much discusses on MapForums --

Maybe they should have had a big "welcome" or "for your information" popup with a little video to explain the change :-)

Hi MFSSTRP-
In the 'you can never have too much info' category - Click HERE to see a 1.5 minute video that reviews the various ways to zoom in to the current version of Streets and Trips. (Slower internet? Wait 10 seconds before hitting the play button)
Hope you find them helpful!
