Is it possible to make a Communicator to Communicator call when both users are VPNed in. We do not use an Edge server since all our remote workers are VPNed in anyway. Our tests seem to indicate that it will not work because we get the message
The call was disconnected because (user) stopped receiving audio
where (user) is the users name whenever two external users VPNed in try to call each other via Communicator. However the exact same two users can call anyone not VPNed in, i.e. in the office, and it works just fine. Same thing in reverse, anyone in the office can call anyone that is VPNed in just fine.
If this is going to be a problem we may need to look harder at deploying an Edge server when we upgrade to R2.
The problem you are having has got nothing to do with OCS As the VPN users can probably not communicate with each other directly Typical VPN problem because 2 party audio call is Peer to peer so not passing via the A/V Conferencing server
If they would initiate a conference it would probably work because then A/V Conferencing is used
The way to go is indeed use an EDGE server- Belgian Exchange Community : http://www.pro-exchange.be -
