You may be a victim of software counterfeiting

Hello, i have had my computer for several years now, and it has ran windows xp perfectly fine untill now. I went to bed last night and it was functioning properly, but when i turned it back on, my background has disappeared and i have a little bubble saying -
"You may be a victim of software counterfeiting" "This copy of Windows did not pass did not pass genuine Windows validation."
Now, as i have previously stated, it has been fine for several years untill today. I would reinstall windows but i lost my disk a long time ago, and the product key is with the disk too i think. What should i do?
Oh and somehow i just made the font above giant and i cant find the option to make it smaller again, so sorry about that.
Thanks.

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )Once saved, run the tool.Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report. To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.- **in your own thread**, pleasePlease also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine, but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!http://www.microsoft.com/howtotell/content.aspx?pg=coa

You have a Geo-Blocked Volume License.
Volume Licenses get Geo-blocked because the owner has notified MS of abuse, but for whatever reason is not able to change all the machines affected - but they are confined to an small area of the globe.
If you bought this Key/License from somewhere, then you unfortunately purchased a counterfeit.
If you were issued this PC/Key by your employer, you should contact them for assistance.
Your PC looks as if it's recent enough to be able to run Windows 7 without too many problems - use the Upgrade Advisor to check, and then consider purchasing a Full retail license for Win7

I got windows xp on a disk that came with my computer that i bought on ebay. I know there are a lot of ebay scammers out there, but windows xp has been just fine for me, for several years, without having this problem.
As for the owner of the volume license, i would have thought that i am the owner of that, unless it is stolen, which i doubt.
My pc can run windows 7, but i find it a bit unfair that i should have to buy a new operating system when i already have one that has worked for years.
Im not sure what to do here, i don't have the money to buy windows 7.

Volume Licenses CANNOT be sold or transferred.individually – they are sold only to organisations for use on their own machines, and must be removed when the machine is no longer used by that organisation.Your license is therefore non-valid.The motherboard is a Retail one – so the machine probably doesn’t have a COA sticker on it? If it does, for what version and edition of Windows is it valid? If there s no COA sticker on it, then the Volume license is automatically invalid anyhow, as all such licenses are upgrades, and require valid qualifying licenses to be in place.

OK, here we go, I am the latest in a long line of people with this same problem.
History of machine and installation:
Current computer bought with Linux already installed. My applications cannot use Linux as I need to run Autocad (genuine) and 3DStudio MAX (genuine) plus podcasting audio software so Windows XP is ideal for me. I have used it for years with no problems. I already have Windows 7 Ultimate on another computer and had to run a lot of upgrades for basic software. I do not wish (and may not be able to) upgrade all the applications I need to run on this machine.
Windows XP Operating System was bought in 2008 (approx) from a Microsoft dealer in Brisbane, along with components to build a new system (Pentium 4). The CDROM has been used several times to successfully re-install Windows XP on other computers I have, due to hard disk upgrades but the Product Key has not been used until now.
Background to all this is that I have a number of older Pentium 4 and Xeon systems which are being pensioned off in favour of two reasonably current machines.

Sorry.
I read the reply that said "Download and run the Genuine Diagnostics Tool (MGADiag.exe) and post the results in this thread. Thank you" and noticed a lot of different users posting in this thread - so was trying to reduce the number of multiple threads all on the same topic. I have started a new one.
