Team tasks not self assigning correctly.

I have attached two screenshots. This by the way isn’t always repeatable, roughly 5% of the time, it actually assigns correctly! Something very weird is going on.
So i assign my 2 day, 80% task to team called “john locke” publish it. Griogair, who is part of that team is able to self assign this task in PWA. The project manager then accepts this change. When the project manager opens his schedule, he expect to see the resource “john locke” to be replaced with “Griogair Dallas” instead, and as you can see, both names are there, with most of the work assigned to the new resource,.
What’s going on with this? As i said, very occasionally it swaps over fine! No time is booked to this taks by anyone at any time.

Ok, getting a little closer. It would appear that when the task is self assigned, that a portion of the work is being reserved for the team resource pool.
I createad a dummy task, which had 6.4 hours of work. Assigned it to the tream resource pool to which im also associated with . When i self assigned, i get an email saying the following, below. No work has been completed on this task, but yet my email says remaining work is 5.6 hours, when i was expecting 6.4 hours.
Its like its reserving a small portion for my team resource pool.
Team Test Pool has reassigned the following task.
Project: griogairs plan
Manager Name: Griogair
Task Name: rr Start: 17 April 2012 Finish: 18 April 2012 Work: 0h Remaining Work: 5.6h % Completion: 0
The task has been reassigned to the following resources.
Griogair Dallas

It appears to work as expceted up until a partiuclar date, then after this date, it does that wierd thing where it leaves a small porition of work left for the team resource.
for this project server trial, i usde my own user credentials for Secure Store and Unattended Service Accounts It wouldnt have anything to do with that would it?
