Confusing translation results

Hi Chris,
I am a little bit confused using the bing translator (http://www.microsofttranslator.com/):
Möwe -> fr -> Seagull, BUT Seagull -> es -> gaviota, gaviota -> fr -> Mouette
I think Möwe -> fr -> Mouette should be the correct translation (like in every common dictionary)
And I am a little confused using upper and lower case:
Baum -> en -> Tree
baum -> en -> tree
Löwe -> en -> Lion
löwe -> en -> Lion
What is the best way using the translation API?
Especially using the translateArrays I have the following problem:
Straßenlaterne -> en -> street lamp
straßenlaterne -> en -> strassenlaterne
Should I use upper case in general or what is the correct way?
Thanks for any help,
Regards, Barmi

Hi Barmi,
translation is case sensitive. Using the correct casing in the source improves the quality of the translation. The system will apply the best casing it can come up with to the target sentence, independent of the casing in the source. But if the source casing is bad, then the translation has a higher chance of being worse than when using appropriate casing.
In terms of casing or translation quality there is no difference between Translate(0 and TranslateArray().
Let us know if this helps,
