If there is a contact, and no lead record, the contact will be pulled into a lead list when running a search ?

Also if I track a outlook contact and sync it to CRM , will there be a lead created ?

    Hi Greg,

Leads and contacts are two seperate entities so they don't appear in the same search results if you are using standard functionality.

Leads are designed to be a precursor to the creation of contacts and accounts so that they can be qualified before being converted into contacts and/or accounts.

Opportunities may also be created from the conversion of leads but a contact and/or account must also be created at the point of qualification.

For further information on the sales process in CRM, take a look at the resource centre (beneath the settings area in your CRM system) as there are lots of articles and videos that explain in more detail.

I think I realized what is happening , we are running advance find to display leads and for some reason deactivated leads show up in our search results ?

Can you shed some light on why that happenes and how to omit them from the results.

    Hi Greg,

Yes, you are including 'Qualified' leads in the 3rd filter down. The status 'Qualified' is an inactive status.
