Mails sent with dynamic values code in CRM 4.0

I want to send e-mail reminders for upcoming appointments
Since I can’t create an appointment e-mail template type, I have to use the option “Create New Message” in the send e-mail workflow step.
While writing the e-mail message, I can use Dynamic Values but the e-mail is sent with the field code like {Location(Appointment)} and not with the dynamic value. What’s wrong?
I appreciate any help I can get.

It worked ok on our end. the {Location(Appointment)} merged ok when the email is produced.
Try to create a test appointment workflow with email step. Set it to on Demand trigger and Scope is Organization. It is only this field or all other merge fields?

All of them are not working.
I Use 4 fields in the body of the email:
Subject: {Assunto(Compromisso)}
Start Time: {Hora de Início(Compromisso)}
Location: {Localização(Compromisso)}
Organizer: {Organizador(Compromisso)}
Plus 8 other fields in the e-mail properties

Something is wrong. Has it ever work before or Is this a new install? I would submit a support incident to Microsoft to look into this. Maybe a hotfix is available.

on the form there is a dropdown, publish as workflow or workflow template, make sure workflow is selected, not template. -

Was this issue ever resolved? I have the same problem. Workflow or workflow Template, same problem.
