giovedì 25 febbraio 2010 19:33ProprietarioHello mjaszo,
First, would you go to http://microsoft.com/genuine and click the Validate Windows button.
If it Validates as Non-Genuine please post here th exact information that page provides. (including error messages, directions to fix the issue and so on)
If the Online Validation does not resolve the issue, please try the below steps:
1) Click Start button.
2) Type: CMD.exe into the 'Search programs and files' field
3) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select 'Run as Administrator'
4) Type: net stop sppsvc (It may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
Note: the Software Protection servive may not be running, this is ok.
5) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
6) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
7) Type: cd %windir%\system32
8) Type: net start sppsvc
9) Type: slui.exe
10) After a couple of seconds Windows Activation dialog will appear. You may be asked to re-activate and/or re-enter your product key or Activation may occur automatically. (If you need to reactivate, please do so by Phone).
Thank you,

giovedì 25 febbraio 2010 23:12Darin,
Thanks for your tips. None of them worked though :/
Maybe I should have mentioned that at the beggining - my Win7 is an upgrade of pre-installed Vista (ASUS laptop). The whole story started with a blue screen during updating my internet communicator. Crash, restart, licence verification - failed.
I've red one of your replies on other thread: "your only resolution would be to change your product key to the COA SLP product key listed on the CoA Sticker on the side or bottom of the computer". The guy seemes to have similar issue.
regards
Michal -
venerdì 26 febbraio 2010 19:08ProprietarioHi Michal,
No, the other person's Windows 7 came pre-installed on his PC. The COA Sticker on your PC would be a Vista Key since that is what orginally came pre-installed on your PC. The Product Key that would work with your Windows 7 is the one that came with that Windows 7.
"Thanks for your tips. None of them worked though :/ "
What did happened?
Did you Windows 7 Validate as Genuine or Non-Genuine?
If Non-Genuine (as I asked in my first post) "please post here the exact information that page provides. (including error messages, directions to fix the issue and so on)"
Did you receive an errors while following the steps I provided? If so, what were they? When did they occure? If you didn't get an error during the steps, what happened on step #10?
Lastly, would you post a new Diagnostic Report so I may see the changes caused by Validating Online and following my steps.
Thank you,
Darin MS -
sabato 27 febbraio 2010 14:01The first step ended with NOT GENUINE verification.
I went for step #2. The whole process went ok. After #10 I had a pop-up window with 4 options:
1. Activate Windows online
2. Buy new product key online
3. Enter the key again
4. See other options
I chose 3 and entered my win7 serial number. The key was verified. It showed error: 0x800700D
I've searched Microsoft help sites and finally found, by product serial number, that I have to contact laptop producer as I would have to pay for the help etc...
I wrote a general email with problem description. Has "step #2" changed anything that could be a problem?
At the moment I keep reciving yet another error: 0xC004F009 (the grace period expired) at the start-up and pop-up window telling me the same.
As a solution for 0xC004F009 I was guided to:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/938450/en-us
Solution for the error: "Follow the RFM recovery guidelines in the Volume Activation 2.0 Step-By-Step Guide(...)" Shown link doesn't work. Here's another one

lunedì 1 marzo 2010 21:31ProprietarioHello mjaszo,
The core of the issue is that Windows Licensing Files don't appear to be readable (possibly corrupt). These steps I provided had you rename the file. As far as Windows is concerned, this is the same as deleting the file. We did that because when Windows sees that the file is missing, it would create a new file and attempt to repopulate the file with the proper Licensing Data.
That 'the grace period expired' error just means your Windows is not Activated. Being Activated or Not is stored in the Licensing files I mentioned. If those files can't be read, Windows assumes it is un-activated. This is just a symptom of the core issue.
Next, I want to see what happens when you attempt to Activate.
1) Click the Start button
2) Type: cmd
3) Right-click on the CMD file and select "Run as Adminstartor"
4) Type: slui 4
5) Select the country you are located in and follow the directions
Thank you,
Darin MS -

Michal
Online Activation will not work for your version of Windows. OEM System Builder version must be Activated by Phone. That is why I suggested using the Slui 4 command since that command spawns the Activate by Phone Wizard.
Did you try the Activate by Phone method?
If you did and it did not work, try Activating by Phone again, but this time, do not enter any information into the phone prompt. This will force the phone prompt to transfer you to a Live Activation Rep.
Thank you,
