    I got my Windows 7 64 bit professional from my school's MSDN Academic Alliance website. This was sometime in November. I just installed it last month. It activated properly without any problems. Suddenly today I get a not genuine message, I go to the website andit checks and tells me my OS is not genuine. I know it is because a)I got it from msdnaa, and, b)I installed it for the first and only time last month. I went to http://microsoft.com/genuine and it did NOT validate Windows.

    I then did the following as it was stated in another message by Darin Smith MSMSFT:
    1) Click Start button.
    2) Type: CMD.exe into the 'Search programs and files' field
    3) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select 'Run as Administrator'
    4) Type: net stop sppsvc   (It may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
    5) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
    6) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
    7) Type: cd %windir%\system32
    8) Type: net start sppsvc
    9) Type: slui.exe

    I then got a VALID window which was a relief, it didn't ask me for activation, it was done automatically. So I went again to the microsoft site to validate windows and AGAIN I got the not valid message. Besides that, I get no errors or anything, everything works fne and going into properties on my PC still shows Windows as being Activated. Any help regarding this continious issue?

    PS. I haven't installed anything beyong a few games that I've had for weeks now.

    In order for us to analyze and troubleshoot a non-genuine notification issue you may be experiencing, please download and run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostics Tool.

    OK, a little background, I'm using a macbook pro booting into Windows natively and NOT using parallels or VMWare or any of those. I haven't installed them and won't. As you can see the tool says Genuine but I keep getting the message that I need to validate and when I try to it tells me it's an invalid copy and invites me to buy Windows 7.
    So I guess my question then is, why is this happening?

    Follow up:
    Seems my son's copy of Office is not genuine. Would uninstalling it resolve the issue?

    Windows 7 was designed for installation and activation on a PC.  In order to activate it on a Mac, it must be installed on an Apple supported platform, such as Apple's Boot Camp or Parallels.

    I installed Windows 7 with VMWare on my MacBook and it worked fine.  I decided to get Parallels 5.0 so I didn't have to restart the computer to switch between OS and Windows.  

    After loading Parallels, I got the Office is not Genuine.  Now I can only open windows through Parallels (won't open outside OS after a restart) and I get an error when I try to download the program that Windows sends you to to fix validation problems with windows.  

    Any suggestions?
