IM Pop-Up Alert

I'm using the microsoft communicator, which is something like normal instant messanging.
As we all knows, when a new conversation begins, an alert will pop-up.
However, is there any directory path for this pop-up alert?
My project requires me to program the mouse to the pop-up so that it will auto open the conversation. I'm thinking of just inputting the link of the pop-up.
Therefore, I need the directory of the pop-up to constantly detect the alert pop-up.
