Answered Windows Explorer problem..

    I have a problem..

In disk management it shows the 2 disks, one with 320GB and another with 500GB..

In Home Server console it also shows the 2 disks and the 800GB has space available..

But in Windows Explorer it only shows one disk, the 320GB one and that's what it says has space available..

I know that Drive Extender makes it show has only one disk and there for one drive letter with the name "DATA", but shouldn't it show the 2 disks united and there for 800GB has space available like in Home Server Console?? It should...

Another thing, not being able to delete pre-shared directories, like photos, videos,, etc.. Is a bad thing, so much for customization... When do the developers from Microsoft, understand that people want choice in the way they use windows?? Who tell developers that, that names are the ones i want to use for let say videos, i may want to use VIDEOS_DIGITALFOX so i should at least be given the option the rename if not delete..

How can i deactivate backup in shared directories??
I don't want to have backups of my data using space from my disks in my server, simply because i have good hardware and also USB external disk backup, and i make manual backups by hand, folder by folder if needed..

But on the overall it looks a great product :)

I have a similiar situation, but after looking at the SYS (C:) there is an "fs" folder that has the information for the two other hard drives I have installed.  Presumabley, although the DATA volume is not reporting the correct information, it still recognizes the drives are there and available with the appropriate amount of space.

Bruno, there's a known issue with this version of WHS that results in that drive space discrepancy.

I see your point on the pre-shared directories, even though I don't really want to get rid of them personally. You should suggest that on Connect.

The shared directories aren't "backed up" per se. Shadow copies are taken every 12 hours, but that doesn't permanently consume storage. Or are you talking about share duplication? That's controlled in the WHS Console: You select a share, then Properties. You can set duplication there. By default, nothing is duplicated.
