domenica 4 marzo 2007 01:41Why build on top of Windows 2003 Small bussiness server? Why not on top the the Longhorn Server or Server Core setup? It seems like the time to market of both home server and longhorn are similar. Also, it seems like a longhorn version would make more sense with the Vista push.

domenica 4 marzo 2007 01:46ModeratoreThe reason that Windows 2003 was chosen is because the initial development of Windows Home Server began back in early 2005 and because the future of Longhorn was unclear, the group decided to be safe and to use Windows Server 2003. Version 2 of WHS will more than likely be based on Longhorn Server, but because Longhorn Server is still under development it would be somewhat risky to build another product on a product that still remains unfinished.
