Well I had to wait until my new pc was built before i could install WHS on my old pc.
I"m running it on a Athlon XP 3000 and an ASUS mb ( don't remember the specs at this point) with 1GB ram, and only have 500MB of storage on it right now.
The install went fine, and after i had installed the drivers for my mobo components i was able to connect.
Funnily enough I was not able to post this message with the installed copy of IE 6. The field for the msg was nonexistent and I had to load firefox to post it.
now to start seeing what I can do with this.
    My network
I have cat 6 run to all locations needed in the house. On my network is 1) pc running Vista Ultimate w/core2duo 2.4ghz, 3GB ram, 2.75 TB storage, 2) pc running Windows Media Center 2005 1 GB ram, 500GB storage, 3) Thinkpad laptop, 4) Xbox 360, 5) Wii, 6) 2 Direct TV HR20 receivers, 7) Dell Axim x50v, 8) Nokia N800

My guess would be the internet security settings.  They are cranked all the way up.  The server itself is not really designed to be used to surf the internet.

If you were to change the security settings, I bet the field would open up.  Or use another computer to post.

    John,

Have you seen any issues with your HR20's on the same network as your WHS? We have received a bug stating that when their WHS box and the HR20 are on the same network the HR20 freezes up. Just curious to see if you have experienced any issues.

    Thanks!

    Chris,

Amazing :) yes I have had a serious issue with my HR20 that is connect to my network (the second one is not currenlty connected). It is freezing and is completely useless. I had assumed it was a current code issue. We are do for a new CE release tomorrow night. I never would have thought to put these together and relate them... Time to start thinking outside of the box.
    Have you had any workarounds?

I can not confirm or deny that the issue with my HR20 is related to running WHS. I am no longer able to get the HR20 to boot, after unplugging the network cable. Ofcourse when it first happened I rebooted it 10 times and that may have damaged it..

The new CE should fix the issue with freezes. One of the fixes is related to freezes with an XBOX 360 and HR20 connected to the same network. I have been having freeze problems with WHS and the HR20 and I assume that the problem is the same as the problem with the XBOX 360.
