View Backups Remotely without WHS Connector?

I have a unique problem with respect to viewing backups:
-
I am away from home, where my Windows Home Server (WHS) is located.
-
My laptop which had the Windows Home Server Connector client died; I have a new laptop but it has not been setup with my Windows Home Server.
-
I would like to view files which were backed-up on my new laptop.
Now the question is what can I do to view backup files NOW:
- I can connect to my WHS from Remote Desktop/Login, but I am unable to view backup files on the WHS itself (by design you cannot open backup files on the WHS itself).
-
I tried to install the WHS Connector client on my new laptop, but it cannot find my WHS (because I am not on my network at home and it cannot find it via URL).
Does anyone have a helpful suggestion at this point? I would suggest that there should be some way to view back files remotely, without the WHS Connector client - is there a hack to do this? Thanks in advance!

There is no way to view the contents of a backup without the connector, I'm afraid.
You may want to submit a product suggestion on Connect.- Proposto come risposta Lara JonesModerator mercoledì 24 settembre 2008 15:58
