After upgrading to Project Professional 2010 (uninstall Project Pro 2007 and then install Project Pro 2010), I cannot connect to Project Server 2007 SP2. The error message I am getting is the following:
Microsoft Office Project: Cannot connect. Project was unable to establish the connection with the selected project server. This could be caused by a loss of network connectivity or problems with the Project Server or database.
Is this scenario supported with the beta or should be server be also upgraded to Project Server 2010?
It was a Technical Preview limitation, with Public beta you can fully have both 2007 and 2010 deployed side by side and still connect to the respective Project Server 2007 and Project Server 2010 instances.
We do not support connecting Project Pro 2010 client to Project Server 2007. You can connect Project Pro 2007 client to Project 2010 Server if the server is running in Backwards Compatibility Mode.
