WHS Ethernet controller installation issue

Hello,
I am trying to upgrade my HP Pavillion box to WHS 2011 and got into the ethernet adapter not found issue. After some searching, I stumbled upon http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/whshardware/thread/d085fc50-cec0-415f-b443-de5182e61131/ and landed on this: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=447469&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=457124&swLang=13&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1093#11395
For reference, my machine configuration is here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03066698&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=5180010#N184
Some questions:
1/ WHS 2011 I have is 64 bit - the HP page says XP and does not say 32 or 64 bit support - does this matter? I read a few forums where people insist on providing the exact drivers and in these forums I hear otherwise (ex: http://www.missingremote.com/guide/installing-server-os-intel-media-series-motherboards )
2/ Once I download the Intel Gigabit driver and assuming it is correct, do I run the exe directly in the server or is there a way to extract the drivers only and then copy the files? How does it work?
Your help is much appreciated.

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :) -

Thanks Ken - but not sure which NIC drivers I need for this profile...
My motherboard is RTL8171EH, searching it in intel.com in any combination does not help...
The best I can have is
http://www.realtek.com/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=13&PFid=4&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false&Downloads=true RTL8169, is that good enough?
