    I'm currently testing the vail preview on my home network, with it's main usage as streaming movies to my media center pc... as soon as I click on one of the shared files, the server literally TURNS OFF!! what could be causing this???

    components: athlon x2 4800

    ecs mobo with nforce 405 chipset

    one 250GB sata

    two 80GB ide

    2GB of crucial DDR2 800

    585 watt psu

    8800gts 640MB

      Driver issue, power issue, flaky motherboard, flaky memory, there are lots of possibilities. Try running Memtest86+ against your server's memory (use the live CD version to boot to a minimal configuration) for an extended period, say a day or two, as a first step in tracking the issue down.
