    Hello All,

                I am looking to pass MCSA, MCSA Messaging, MCSA Security, MCSE, MCSE Message and MCSE Security.  I am little concerned about any of the exams that might have expired.  So, I would appreciate if someone could identify if there is anything wrong with my plan or suggest an alternative exam for an exam that has expired.  My plan is below:

    MCSA                   = 70-270, 70-290, 70-291, 70-350 (I fear this has expired.  If it has, please suggest alternative exam)

    MCSA Messaging   = 70-284 (I fear this has expired.  If it has, please suggest alternative exam)

    MCSA Security      = 70-299

    MCSE                   = 70-293, 70-294, 70-297

    MCSE Messaging   = 70-285 (I fear this has expired.  If it has, please suggest alternative exam)

    MCSE Security      = 70-298

    Thanks in advance.

    As far as I know, no knew certifications have been released to enable candidates to acheive MCSA/MCSE certification in 2000/2003.

    Please refer to the following FAQ for additional information on exam retirement:

    Some of the exams that you have mentioned have either already been retired or going to be by Jan 2013.

    See the expired exam list at the below URL. Please explore other tabs too on the same page to get more information.

    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-lifecycle.aspx#tab3

    I would recommend that you replan your tracks as per the following considerations -

    • Your aspirations. What skills would you like to consolidate in the long term? You have mentioned 11 certifications in your list above. Assuming that none of them has retired, how soon do you plan to complete those? In what order?
    • The current certification structure offered by Microsoft. (http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-overview.aspx)
    • Product support lifecycle. Why certify for a technology that has already reached its end of support cycle or going to be phased out soon. Target the current technologies that would be around for at least 3 years or more.

    I hope this helps. All the best!
