My Mesh client flagged an update this morning which I let it install Now my mesh does not seem to be Working. I've Signed in but the mesh Still tells me this device is offline and asks me to sign in.
I'm hoping its Just me as there are no Other Comments here but some Suggestions would be warmly received. I can obviously system restore but would rather not if I can avoid it.
my update worked ok on vista business except it hung after desktop and taskbars dissapeared. had to ctrl alt delet force restart and now is working ok logged in and all
Are you still encountering this problem? If so, please let me know, and tell me what steps you've already tried to get it to work (e.g., restarting your computer), and I'll follow up.
I still have the problem. My tablet Stays with The Mesh tray icon Grey. I've signed in and out a few times and have restarted the machine but alas still does not work. I have Just tried this with the firewall off audit Still fails So its not That. On the local tray app and the Mesh devices the tablet shows with a yellow triangle that has an explanation mark in it.
Prior to the upgrade I changed some files that show up in news on my tablet but these are not in the news on my home PC.
I Just Started my home PC and that has started okay and is running fine. This is the only other machine I have in my Mesh at this point.
I think at this point we need to take a look at the logs from the computer that's having this problem. Would you mind submitting a bug report and attaching your logs? Instructions are in an Announcement at the top of the forums.
Once your logs have been looked over, you should hear back from someone about possible solutions, but I'll also follow up here if I learn anything new. If you submit your bug through Connect, you can also post the Connect Feeback ID here for others to view and validate.
Just wanted to add that I encountered this on my XP Media Center machine for a short period. After the update, the machine logged on and conencted to the Mesh, but the icon was gray and it reported that there was a connection problem. I exited Live Mesh and let it close, then started it again from Start/All Programs/LiveMesh and it logged me in and showed the status correctly. Logging out and back in didn't help and the machine with the odd state showed as online and connected to the Mesh from the web desktop and another machine that had updated earlier in the day. It has not happened since. It only happened shortly after that machine updated. -steveMicrosoft MVP Windows Live / Windows Live OneCare Forum Moderator
