Question Company Name attribute missing!

    I recently went to look for company name within my contacts customization form page....and the attribute is completely gone... Does anyone have a solution to retieve the original attribute... I need it for syncing purposes with outlook!

    It's called Parent Customer field, and it's a system field which can be removed from the form but it can't be deleted from the contact entity.

    Apparently it has been deleted from the contact entity.... The field "company name" is no where to be found forsay I wanted to drag and drop that field onto my form... I can't create this same field because it will have new_ abbreiviation... any ideas?

    As Neil says.. the field is a system field.. and can not be deleted from the database.

    • Go to your solution.
    • Open contact entity.
    • Click fields
    • Find the field with the field name "Parent customer" and see what the display label is.

    Now you can go to your form and check if that display label is on your form anywhere all ready...

    IF NOT.. then it will be in the list to the right for you to add to the form. There is no way around this. If you can not see the field on the form.. or in the list.. then look again.. because it is there. If you still can not find it, get a collegaue to check for you as well... if still not there.. create a MS support case, because then your installation is bugged and someone did something they shouldnt have :)

    As in similar contrast to the leads entity "Company Name"... it is a missing field in the contact field choices.. seems the system has removed it, and I need it for syncing purposes with Outlook... any ideas?

    There is no field on the Contact entity called Company Name, unless someone has customized your system. There is a system field called Parent Customer that is used to store the contact's parent account or parent contact, and this field is sometimes customized by renaming it Company, Parent Company or similar. The schema name of the field is parentcustomerid. It's a system field and system fields can be removed from forms but they cannot be deleted.

    The Company Name field on the Lead entity is just a text field, so it's not going to help by posting screenshots of that.
