We installed Rollup 3 on our system on Monday, and since then we have been getting various errors regarding permissions. These have slowly been resolved, but we still have 1 issue which occurs 90% of the time.

When creating a record in CRM (usually a Task), and selecting Save and Close. we get an error stating that Microsoft CRM has encountered an error. Do you want to send an error report to MS.

We have enabled the trace feature within CRM, and whenever this error occurs via IE. This is what is outputted to the trace file.

If I access CRM via IE which with a machine on the domain, then no errors occur. If I try accessing using just a standard web connection, the error occurs every time.

Any suggestions on what could be causing this. It was all running smoothly pre-Rollup 3.

If you want to stop receiving the error message you can change the CRM options to automatically send the error report and I think you will stop receiving this message. Take a look at the privacy tab under CRM Options and you will find the setting. Select the option to Automatically send the report.

How exactly are you connecting with this method "standard web connection".

If by "standard web connection" you mean via the internet (not on your network) and you have not enabled IFD (internet facing deployment), you will see a lot of these errors. If you have enabled IFD, it should behave the same way that it does over your network.

I had this exactly issue today. But the client in subject was on 4.0 RTM, not RUs (yet).

This was fixed by changing the identity that runs the CrmAppPool from a crm service account to Network Service.
