    I have had problems for 8 date days getting popups telling me to validate Vista, but after hours of work i discoverd it was an activation problem i removed a number spy wear programs and finely  spyware doc 4 for windows and a reboot the activation prosess worked first time.

    Microsoft verified this issue with Spyware Doctor -- they didn't have any code bug, but were performing a "used to be" legitimate operation that is no longer allowed in Vista.  As of October 10, 2006 (last communication I've seen on this):

    ·         We have sent guidance documents to the AV/AS community

    ·         We had a follow up conference with PC tools and the company communicated that Spyware Doctor will be modified to adhere to this guidance – this should be done shortly and will solve this issue for Vista since Spyware Doctor update mechanism will automatically update the fix in all clients
