what if I send in the "supposed counterfeit" windows 7 home premium I bought on amazon.com and it turns out to be genuine, and I just got hacked or something. Will they send it back? I don't want to just lose my software that I bough because you guys said send it in!!! I feel bad that people always try to rip off Microsoft, but that does not make it OK for Microsoft to rip me off! I pay for all my software!!! I have 9 fully paid for copies of windows XP. Not to mention Various versions of office and other stuff that are fully paid for. I am a good customer!
I will be pissed if Microsoft rips me off.
Rick
P.S. I went to do the phone validation and it said it was counterfeit. Then it said to go to validation site and download the tool you people talk about, so I did, and it asked for my key code. I thought Microsoft would never ask for that code?!?!?! Was that a hack? Did I just get my code stolen? Is that why the thing is saying my software is counterfeit?
P.S. - P.S. I had this supposed counterfeit windows 7 home premium on my lap top. Where it was working fine I might add! Then I decided to move it to my desk top, I deleted it and I installed my win 7 pro on the lap top instead. The windows 7 home premium is a store bought copy. Does Microsoft decide they will void my code because I moved the software to a different PC? I was under the opinion the full store bought copy I could install on what ever single computer I want as long as I remove it from the previous PC. It is not an upgrade. What do you say?

MS does not return any materials sent to the HowToTell site for counterfeit replacement and found not to qualify for complementary replacement for any reason. The Key in use is an MSDN Key. Unless you are an MSDN subscriber, you are not entitled to use the Key – and whoever sold it to you was not entitled to do so. Your Windows Key is from a not-for-resale MSDN account. You need to claim an immediate refund from the vendor - do NOT accept the offer of a new key.(all they are trying to do is to get past the 45-day claims window. or avoid you sending the evidence of their crimes to the authorities)Please read the following stickies.... ..................................http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindows7/thread/a2444f34-0aff-4f29-a8ac-67e28b0c0285andhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindows7/thread/309bb621-92d5-43d6-98c1-2bb51b35607fThe pirates have got VERY good at this over the past few years, as the price of equipment for manufacturing the packages drops, and as factories open in less well-policed countries.see also this post....http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindows7/thread/46a58748-5a64-41ff-b7f4-f6d3b47beca9Also - have a look at this video....

Q. Does Microsoft decide they will void my code because I moved the software to a different PC?
A. No. However, it appears your installed copy of Windows 7 is indeed counterfeit. See: Counterfeit Software Report
