    Would be nice to have another section or link on the masthead like news/announcements which navigates the user to a page showing Announcements across all forums and/or brands

    The announcements forum pretty much does this. It is shared across all brands.

    Yes. But would be nice to have a page similar to the landing page for Forums where you have categories then announcements for those categories. For example, announcements for Expression Forums, Sandbox Forums, etc... The idea would be to group announcements targeting specific brands and or forum categories.
