Laptops are no domain members, how to prevent error: Communicator could not determine the location of ....

2008년 11월 27일 목요일 오후 2:22Hi there,
I currently have a OCS 2007 Standard installation. Internally it works great for Domain Members. Unfortunally, we also have to work on pc's who are not joined to the domain. These pc's have outlook 2007 sp1 installed, and authenticate manually when they start it.
The same goes for their Communicator client, they can login but they will always see the waring "Outlook integration error? "Communicator could not determine the location of your Exchange Web Services"
How do I fix this issue? I did a search on the forum before, but autodiscovery seems to be working. I can start my outlook client after installation and it will automaticly do my configuration.
Thanks a lot for your time in advance.

You should use the following commandlet on Exchange Server
Test-outlookwebservices |fl
And do testing on Outlook
1. Start Outlook, right click the Outlook 2007 icon and click Test E-mail AutoConfiguration
2. Select “Use AutoDiscover” only
3. Type in the user name and password, click Test
4. Please check whether we can connect to the Autodiscover service and obtain the URLs and if they are correct
Make sure that Certificates are installed on the none domain joined systems
Connect to Autodiscover website manually with IE to see if cert is ok
Also make sure that the Exchange profile is the default profile in outlook

2008년 11월 29일 토요일 오후 2:30After doing the rightmouseclick on the icon and see the autodiscovery check, I noticed it used a url which doesnt exist. (autodiscover.emaildomain.com instread of the real autodiscover url).
I created the host dns name and the problem was resolved!
Thanks
