    It would be nice to have the option to automatically upload the backups to an ftp server just in case of a fire, or natural disaster or something.

      I would totally agree.  I could see this happening in a couple ways.  The best way would be for Microsoft to have a service that would automatically back up your data from WHS.  I would think anyone would pay a couple bucks a month for some peace of mind. 

      Or for those of us with offsite servers a simple sync program to keep files backed up would work.

      I have been testing MediaMax XL to backup my files to their service, seems to work pretty well although this is something the end user would need to set up themselves.

        Living in northern California where we had a small earthquake last night, I would love to have mine backed up off-site by a service like Mozy or Carbonite.  $5 for unlimited backup storage is mighty tempting.
