So you have finally taken the plunge and have decided to enter the wonderful (and exciting) world of Windows Mobile.  I expect that as you finally get into your device, learn its features and see the power of Windows Mobile, you will be very happy with your decision.

Like all things that are new, we tend to want it all ... and we want it all NOW.  You have heard and seen what folks are doing so you want to be at that level as you turn your device on for the first time.  Well, my advice is .... don't even think about it!  Take it slow, learn your device's features then SLOWLY add the programs you want.  Do one thing at a time, learn it well and you will be much happier.

Use the programs that come pre-installed on your device.  Play a game, write a note, create a document in Word Mobile and sync it with your PC.  Edit it on your PC and sync it back to your device. Just use the features of your device to get the comfort factor to a high level ... you will be glad you did!

So in a very short period of time you will be ready to add a new piece of software.  Again my advise is to initially start with one program.  Learn how to install it on your device (it is really easy) then use it.  After you are comfortable with the process then you are ready to start adding more but again my advise is to still do one program at a time.  All of a sudden your comfort factor will dramatically increase and you will be able to do what you want to do, when you want to it and you will be doing it with a high degree of comfort.

What programs should you install first?  That is going to be a matter of personal preference and your tastes will change as you discover the possibilities that exist.  Remember, some programs are free and some cost so you might consider trying a few "freebies" first just to get into the process of installing (and removing if you decide you don't like it).

(And check back often to get a new one....they will be coming!

Lastly, you will find that the mobile community is an incredible group of men and women that have already gone through what you are currently experiencing and are willing to share their knowledge to make your experience a better one.  If you have a question and you just can't find the answer, then ASK!  I'll bet there is someone out there who has already had the same question and will share the answer with you.

Good luck!  I hope we see you in the forums!
