    Hello,

I noticed that somebody who aquires an Microsoft Certification Is not able to request an MCP Wallet Card anymore (MCP Plastic Card). I found that card always very cool and sometimes useful. My request would be to integrate that back into the MCP Program. Thanks.

I hope more folks agree with me.

Microsoft is committed to helping people and organizations around the world improve the environment and here are the highline benefits of this initiative:

    · Reducing Waste and Carbon Footprint – no longer shipping envelopes and plastic wrap that ends up in landfills.

    · Instant Access to Your MCP Certificate(s) – no longer waiting for it to arrive through the mail system.

    · Same Credentials and Benefits – Same great certificates available

    · Making Environmental Stewardship Part of Our Business Relationships.

What this means is starting July 1, 2009, they will no longer ship Welcome Kits.  You will be able to still order a paper certificate for a shipping & handling fee and the wallet cards (as previously mentioned) are going digital .  The features and coolness of that will worth the wait of one month.

    Hi,

One note I would like to point out is that this is NOT a replacement for wallet cards.  They will not allow these cards to be printed at the moment.  VBCs are here to help you brand yourself on technical forums, emails, social networking sites, and any online property where your identify is your credibility.  They want the world to know that, hey, you’re an MCP/MCT and you know what you’re talking about.

    Hello,

Thanks for answers. I searched the MCP site, but was not able to find the option to order a certificate with a wallet card. Can someone point me out how to find this option on the MCP site?
VBC's are an option, but I liked the wallet card's more, I found those cards always very cool.

I haven't seen a way to order them. I've never seen one besides mine when I got my MCP 7 years ago. I didn't think anyone ever used/cared about them. :) Maybe I can get a discount at Dennys if I can find it.

    Hi,

The MCP Card is discontinued, so you can't order them anymore.

You can create a virtual MCP card (digital only) here: https://www.mcpvirtualbusinesscard.com/

(Use the same LiveID that you use to log on to the mcp site)

I totally agree with this. MS should bring the plastic wallet card back, or let us buy the card. I'm also not impressed by the virtual business card.

I agree, it should be an option to order/re-order these for Microsoft Certifications (presently, I can't find mine).  People in this line of work often inexplicably value this kind of thing, in the same way we enjoy other geeky stuff.  Why would Microsoft hold back here?  On something as businessy as a wallet card, of all possible things?  In fact, it would be cool if the card could actually DO something, but since I'm begging here I don't want to ask for too much (But y'know, maybe it could open up some MCP lounge/library/smoking room in Redmond or something).  If it costs too much, then charge for it to cover the cost.

(Don't make me say anything about the Virtual Cards.)

Maybe about last two or three week, i found Microsoft announcement on MCP website and claim that the wallet cards can be ordered from Late February 2011 but now this phrase replacing with Virtual Business Card ( VBC ). I'm not sure whether we can order this card from releasing date  or not or Microsoft change their policies to the VBC again,

I'm not happy with VBC Card. It is not interesting for me and other too....

I saw that too. It's the pity that they decided to step bac.I think wallet card is a nice promotion to certification.

I dont think they have abandoned the wallet cards they have only removed the post about the february release date Erwin from microsoft told me that they are still finalising some details and will update us in the next few weeks so its possible that there may be a small delay but until I hear more lets just keep thinking positive :)

That's awesome! Finally I can get a replacement for my lost MCP card. Though, you can link your VBC to social sites but that doesn't equate to the "wallet decorater" :o).

Can't wait to get my copy.

I would like the option to at least pay for the wallet cards.  They're kind of cool, even if they probably aren't that useful.  I like the hard-copy certificates that Microsoft offers for the same reason, plus they're nice to frame.

VBC Update - You now have the opportunity to connect your Virtual Business Card (VBC) to your Microsoft Certified Professional Wallet Card!

Although purchasing your Wallet card is optional, the new Microsoft Tag on the Wallet Card allows a digital connection with your physical card.

Through the Microsoft Tag, you can showcase your transcript in real-time to potential employers, colleagues, and friends. In addition, you can take part in Microsoft contests and share your contact information through a VCF download.

PLEASE NOTE: Wallet Cards with their associated Microsoft Tag will be available to order in July. Start creating your VBC today in preparation of their arrival.

If the Tagging feature is as useful and fun as it sounds it will have been worth the wait.

As a side note, can't wait till I'm at a convention and see dozens of people with their smart phones out huddling over a table trying to scan everyone else's card!

"Great idea - Please find below the images of the new wallet cards.  There will be three different colors - Green for Technical, Orange for Office, and Red for Trainer.  The certification you choose for the front of the card will dictate the color regardless of the certifications you choose for the back.  There will be an official Microsoft hologram on the front and a Microsoft Tag on the back.  You have the option to upload your photo to your card or go with a standard default image that is provided during the card creation process. The cost will be a flat $8.95 - which includes shipping and handling. (regardless of location)    I have been told by the security team that we are looking at 4 - 5 weeks for a fix, but unfortunately I cannot commit to a date until they are further along in the process. Please accept my apologies for the delay, and know that I am just as eager as you to launch this project.   - thanks"

Fantastic news for all - we have a launch date.  It will be the 20th of October.  The site will actually be ready at the end of September, but we will go through a round of testing with internal MCPS and a few external MCPs to finalize the process flow - and then we are a go.  I look forward to your feedback at launch. - thanks

I too totally agree with this. MS should bring the plastic wallet card back, or let us buy the card. I'm also not impressed by the virtual business card.

when we goto a residence or any place  for repairing computers it is much more better to show them a real plastic wallet card issued by microsoft .

people still need hard copies to convince them.

Thank you for your e-mail regarding Wallet card.

We would be happy to assist you.

The wallet cards are now available at last!! Log onto the MCP Member site and click the link to create your wallet cards note they are green for technical such as MCSE, MCTS, MCITP, Red for MCT and Orange for Office Certifications MOS

At the moment it is unofficially announced by the born to learn logs official announcement is on the 20th of october

Better late than never but over 2 years since announcing the return of the cards and constant delays has left a lot of us frustrated

Beware you can get a quick delivery but it is $30 !!! + the card card cost is $8.95

Standard delivery is just the card cost no additional delivery charge just depends how desperate you are really

You can get differant languages of the cards too if needed

    Pathetic

what has happenened to Microsoft !!!

Today i had called them as i didnt get any response and asked for Daniel, they said he is not there and how they can help me

    i gave them the

Incident--C20120705 number hoping i need not explain my story.

The support person said that this is only half no. and she apologized that Daniel is also not there .

Then again i started my sad story , but this lady was very quick she understood my query and asked me to send me order confirmation mail and even the followup mails done with Sidwallet .

Finally i now got a new case registered

    Its called Service Request

    Name:Zhena

    201207270123543294

Time spent on call is 23 Minutes .

Hope this will get resolved at least now !!!

Whenever you send an email to MRSC, you will get a reference number for that email so that it can be traced. I presume that this number relates to the email you sent containing proof of purchase for your MCP Wallet Card. Did you remember to include the reference # 201207270123543294 in your email?

    Hi All,

After such long wait of around an year and many mails to Microsoft , I now GIVE UP.

I haven't received the card yet & after contacting Microsoft they say again that you need to get in touch with sunrise team.

After contacting sunrise team and waiting for more then 2 days i haven't got any response , now even Microsoft is also washing its hands away from this , saying its maintained by third party and they dont have any control over it !!!

If the same would had been with Vmware, Apple customer would had been treated with out most care and satisfaction delivered.

Microsoft now no longer works like a professional service provider and don't go for it for any level of support .

I would request everyone in the forum not to waste any Money in these wallet as you would not get the card nor any support .
