    Wanted to be 100% sure I'm studying the correct SQL 2005 equivalent, is it the 70-442, or is this an entirely new exam?
    lots of 442 questions I don't quite line up with the Skills Measured section for the 450...

    If anyone knows for sure please let me know, cram cram cram...

    The correct equivalent of what credential?  Are you looking for the equivalent SQL 2008 credential to something in 2005?  2005 equivalent to something in 2000?

    Im sorry, perhaps if you provide a little more info, i might be able to better assist :)

    Sorry for the confusion,

    I was hoping for clarification for the same test on SQL 2005.

    Since there are no SQL 2008 books or study guides available I wanted to be sure I was studying the correct SQL 2005 study guides and taking the correct Transcender test.

    The 70-450 exam is still in beta so you're not going to be able to find any study guides for this. 

    Yes, it is an entirely new exam for an entirely new certification.  70-450 is for SQL Server 2008 database administraion and 70-442 is for SQL Server 2005 database developer.  If you want to answer the question for yourself, do this.  Print out the objectives for the 70-442 exam (http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exams/70-442.mspx) and the objectives for the 70-450 exam (http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exams/70-450.mspx).  Set them side by side and circle all the items that are same. 

    Better, do the same thing with the other MCITP SQL Server exams: 70-431, 70-441, 70-442, 70-443, 70-444.  You'll find a lot more similar objectives on the 70-443 and 70-444 exams which makes sense since the 70-450 exam is for a Database Administrator MCITP and the 70-431, 70-443, and 70-444 exams are also for the Database Administrator MCITP, though different versions.

    If you want a study guide, you might be better served to look for study guides that are currently available for SQL Server 2005.
