Hi,
I am trying to setup Live Mesh Beta on Windows 7. I have enabled the remote desktop option, but still the yellow exclamation is persisting and I am not able to connect to my PC from the Devices section in the web.
Could you please suggest a solution for this problem?

Are you behind a firewall? Do you need to navigate a proxy server? What security software are you using? Is this via the Internet or on the local LAN? Have you tried connecting from the Live Desktop at www.mesh.com or do you get the same results?
It is possible that the problem is not at your end, but server related. Some people have reported that the problem goes away on its own over time.
If you don't have any XP machines in your Mesh, you may want to check out the Live Sync beta, part of Windows Live Essentials Wave 4, which will replace Live Mesh in the near future. it will not run on XP, though.

Thank you Stephen for your concern. Here are my answers.
I am using the default firewall on Windows 7 and Live mesh has added an exception to it while installing. I do need to navigate through a proxy server. I am using Microsoft Security Essentials 2 Beta. When I login through mesh.com, then also the yellow sign appears over the device name, and hence, I am not able to connect to the device.
Unfortunately, the web install of Live Sync beta is not working. I have tried to install it also, and it is failing during installation. An error message is coming prompting to check the internet connection, with error code -x80070057. Is it because I am behind a proxy? Is it possible to have an offline install like the older versions?

Yes, your issue is likely due to the proxy. Live Mesh can navigate some proxy servers. Even when Live Sync beta is available for an off-line/downloadable install, I don't know that you will be able to navigate the proxy for remote desktop connections.
Does the sync part of Live Mesh work for folders you've added to the Mesh?

Yes, the synchronization part with Live Mesh Beta is working.
Since your last reply, I have uninstalled Live Mesh Beta and have installed Live Sync Beta using an offline installer. The version of Live Sync Beta that I have installed is Version 2011 Build 15.4.3001.0809. This version is working fine and I am able to sync my desktop files to say my Skydrive synced storage. In the Remote Tab, it is saying that remote connections are enabled.

Good luck to you. Proxy support is tricky. It is good to read that Live Sync beta seems to handle it better.

Hi,
I have also the problem that Live Essentials 2011's Mesh cannot work with our proxy server at work.
BUT the previous installed Live Mesh Beta handles it correct and worked fine!
Why did the developers did not implement the software they used/developed before?
Can I contact MS in some way to tell or ask them?
Regards,
Mark

Since you are referring to Windows Live Mesh, not Live Mesh - www.mesh.com ...

Stephen,
Are you kidding? There are two different products with virtually the same name? How are we supposed to keep that straight? (Ugh.) (I know you probably didn't name them.)
I'm using Windows Live Mesh 2011 and can't get remote access to work. Where do I go for help? (This machine won't let me configure it for incoming remote access. WLM simply gives me a useless popup saying "there was an error" with no further explanation.)

Unfortunately, I'm not kidding. :-(It's nice that the name lives on, but it is a wholly different product and service. After the end of March, there will be only one product/service with the name and I assume that this forum will be closed.
The forum I linked to in my last reply would be the place to go for help. Do you have any firewall software running other than the Windows Firewall? That might be blocking the inbound connectivity.
