Upgrade (?) to Live Mesh 2011 from Live Mesh Beta

Having had the email from MS that Beta is to be killed (Gee thanks, now the service I love I can not use any more on my netbook!) I thought I'd give Live Mesh a chance...
Running Windows 7 64-bit on my Main PC, running Raid-10 with 4 drives, split into 3 partitions. C: OS D: Data T:Temporary. I have "Documents" pointing to my D Drive, so maybe I screwed up a file pointer or something... However, whenever I select a folder from the D: drive, e.g. d:\homepages\website1 it adds the sync but to d:\omepages\website1. Oddy works fine for my C drive and T drive (tested) but I can't sync anything on my D drive?

I'm not sure that I understand your issue, though. Your description, "I select a folder from the D: drive, e.g. d:\homepages\website1 it adds the sync but to d:\omepages\website1" looks odd only that the "h" is missing from the path in your second listing.

Thanks Steve, might ask there, but simply when I added "D:\homepages\website1" to the folders to sync, it would set everything up but the folder was added as "D:\omepages\website1" causing it not to sync (Doesn't exist).
To be honest I've now uninstalled Live Mesh 2011 and gone back to the superior (IMO) Live Mesh Beta :)
I need to find a better replacement that works with XP which I have on my NetBook.

Ineresting - so it dropped the "h" from the path?

Yep, no matter what path I pick on the D:\ drive it drops the first letter of the path name :) If I picked off my C or T drive, worked as expected, just the D: drive (Which I have as my sepcial documents folder)
As I've said though, I have now gone back to Mesh Beta as Mesh Live doesn't work with XP, till I can find another solution.

That sure is strange, Mat-Moo. I have to wonder what caused that.

zaterdag 23 oktober 2010 0:03Thanks for reporting this issue, Mat-Moo. We managed to track this problem down and I guess the fix will be available soon. As a temporary work-around you can re-direct your "Documents" folder to any other location on the drive D except the root.

zaterdag 23 oktober 2010 12:52I also get this issue... I setup to sync to G:\Music\ and it syncs to G:\usic\. Is it because the slash is commenting out the first letter in the software as is the case in many programming languages?

Based on the last response from the thread before your post, it appears to be a bug with Windows Live Mesh.-steve

Nope. The escape characters are not the issue. The root cause is the incorrect processing of the special folder path. I guess one of your special folders ("Documents", "Pictures", "Music" ... ) is re-directed from %userprofile%\"special folder name" to the root of the drive G.

maandag 24 januari 2011 21:05Has this still not been resolved? I got a new laptop with Windows 7 so upgraded again to the new Mesh Live, and this issue still exists!

No.Since you are referring to Windows Live Mesh, not Live Mesh - www.mesh.com, you are in the wrong forum.
