Viewing shared folders while in XP mode- possible?
-
donderdag 13 januari 2011 13:23I have two machines synced, and also two folders on each C drive shared and updated properly. I can switch between machines and see the files, no problem. I have to run an older program on my office machine in the XP mode. The shared folder is not present on that virtual machine, so I cannot access the file I am looking to work with. Any way for that folder to become attached to the machine in XP mode?

Synchronized using what? This forum is for Live Mesh Beta, which will cease functioning at the end of March, 2011. If you are running Live Mesh beta on the Host OS (I assume it is Windows 7), and sharing a folder as a Mesh folder, you then need to also run Live Mesh on the guest OS, XP, and share that folder with that OS.
I am not sure that I understand your situation. I don't believe that the Shared Folder or synchronized folder is an issue here, but rather that the Virtual Machine does not have access to the folder that exists on your host machine/OS, of Windows 7. You need to share that folder, since I assume that it exists within your Users folder under Windows 7 and is, therefore, not shared by default.
I think that you will want to post your question to the Windows 7 forums on Answers:
