Hi,
In the Campaign Response entity, there is a "Promotion Code" field which is just a line of text. What is the intended use of this field?
Thanks,
-Mark

Hi,
Many a times companies come out with various promotions. This code field can be used for that.
I hope this helps. If my response answered your question, please mark the response as an answer and also vote as helpful.

The promotion code is an internal field companies usually use to relate the CRM campaign records with a process external to the CRM marketing process, a code the marketing department uses to identify the marketing campaign.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the replies guys! I guess I'm surprised that this is a free-text field rather than a drop-down though. We have a small number of promo codes, and a drop-down suits us better as it ensures the correct data is always entered. Free-text fields require more operator care. Is there any advantage to the use of the free text field that I'm missing?

If the Response Code was an option set then a system administrator would have to customize the system by creating a new option set value for each response code required by the marketing department. You could easily add an option set field or even create a custom entity for response codes if this meets your requirements better.Neil Benson, CRM Addict and MVP at Customery Ltd. Join me on Twitter.
