Can't retrieve old account

  Hello.

  I wanted to merge between my two emails on MSN Live Messenger, my current email is [removed] but the one I am using on MSN is [removed] - I wanted to merge it with shanee.nishry but when trying to do so it tells me that the account or password are incorrect, trying to retrieve the password gives me this error: "The Windows Live ID is incorrect. Please try again." and trying to re-register the email tells me that it is already in use.

  I haven't used it for a long time, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was deleted, but why can't I register it again? Why would it tell me both that the account is incorrect and that the account is already in use? How can I retrieve my account? [removed] is the one I am having problems with)
