Plug In Development for MS Project

Hi All
I am very new to plug-In development for MS Project. Please guide me regarding this.My requirement is to show a pop-up at the time of project manager entering the resources. Is it possible? If yes, then guide me ....

Hello Ramesh,
Yes you can do that. It's easier if you are using Project Professional 2010. Take a look at the Project 2010 SDK. If you have future questions, you should post them in the Project Developers forum.

Hi Michael Wharton
My requierement is to develop a plug-in for MS project. Which will allo project manager to enter resource email id at the time of Resource name Entering event. If project manager Enter resource name and then he press any of the button, automatically a pop-up will blow up asks manager to enter resource email Id. Then it will automatically send email t that resouce Name on task dead lines.
Is it possible by using 2010 SDk?
If yes, then i will completely moved to 2010 SDk..
Please guide me regarding this ...

Take a look at the Project 2010 SDK. The SDK provides source code, samples, help files and resource to get you started with building a custom solution. Another place to look is CodePlex.com.

This is possible in any version of Project Professional and Standard that I know (2000, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2010)

Hi,
First you have to prepare the VBA nenvironment for using resource events; this can be found on pages 190 and 191 of the only book specializing on Project VBA:
VBA Programming for Microsoft Office Project, by fellow MVP Rod Gill.
Once you're there you can code whatever you want in the Projectbeforeresorucenew event.
