  I used the code tool to post code.  Clicked "OK" to paste it into the thread.  I used my cursor to highlight all of those lines, and then the waterbucket tool to highlight the background.  What you see is what you get.  I did not try to edit the post, I only added the comment at the bottom.
  
  I have gone back to threads and highlighted the posted code, but never highlighted over top of commented areas.
