I have been experiencing poor performance when using Live Mesh Remote Desktop to access my devices on my LAN (comparable to the performance one would expect connecting via a mid-grade internet connection).
I have tried turning off all firewalls, but this doesn't improve performance.
I'm using Vista Ultimate SP1 on all my devices and when I connect using the standard remote desktop connection, the performance is nearly as good as sitting at the local machine.
Why would Mesh Remote Desktop route traffic across the internet if the two devices are sitting on the same local network?
(Note that I did install the UAC prompt required "enhancements".)

Right now Live Mesh Remote Desktop does indeed route traffic across the internet, even for two devices on the same local network, as this provides us with the highest chance of connectivity. However, true P2P is in the works.
