So which software is actually totally free of charge?

  I'm so confused when I'm sure I'm downloading free software and after some time licence box appears.

   

  I need Visual Studio for c++. That's all. Which version should I get not to have to pay for it. I already know that "Express" doesn't mean free. VS 2010 Express must be licenced.
