29 lutego 2012 17:24ModeratorTobias --Are these users all included in a single security Group in PWA? This security Group can either be a custom Group or a default Groups whose permissions you had edited. If the answer is yes, that might be the source of the issue. Click Server Settings > Manage Groups and then click the name of the Group to open it for editing. In the Global Permissions data grid, check to confirm that there are no Deny permissions. Beyond this, confirm that they DO have permissions set to Allow in the View section of the Global Permissions grid, in addition to other permissions they need for their daily work. Let us know if this helps.

You control some of the View Settings from the Global Permissions of a group setting.
View Approvals <input hidefocus="" title="Select or clear this item." type="checkbox" /> <input hidefocus="" title="Select or clear this item." type="checkbox" /> View Business Intelligence Link <input hidefocus="" title="Select or clear this item." type="checkbox" /> <input hidefocus="" title="Select or clear this item." type="checkbox" /> View OLAP Data <input hidefocus="" title="Select or clear this item." type="checkbox" /> <input hidefocus="" title="Select or clear this item." type="checkbox" /> View Project Center <input hidefocus="" title="Select or clear this item." type="checkbox" /> <input hidefocus="" title="Select or clear this item." type="checkbox" /> View Project Schedule Views <input hidefocus="" title="Select or clear this item." type="checkbox" /> <input hidefocus="" title="Select or clear this item." type="checkbox" /> View Resource Availability <input hidefocus="" title="Select or clear this item." type="checkbox" /> <input hidefocus="" title="Select or clear this item." type="checkbox" /> View Resource Center <input hidefocus="" title="Select or clear this item." type="checkbox" /> <input hidefocus="" title="Select or clear this item." type="checkbox" /> View Task Center <input hidefocus="" title="Select or clear this item." type="checkbox" /> <input hidefocus="" title="Select or clear this item." type="checkbox" /> View Team Builder <input hidefocus="" title="Select or clear this item." type="checkbox" /> <input hidefocus="" title="Select or clear this item." type="checkbox" /> View Timesheets

Hi Tobias
I think what you are asking for is not possible configruation-wise, because the Project Server--> Server Settings --> Quick Launch --> only allows the changes made to be at the site level irrespective of Groups & Categories, you have. So, in my knowledge nope its not possible.
And I am not sure of but you can get the proper answer from
"Project Customization and Programming"
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/project2010custprog/threads
Just check it out once.

Hi all,
thanks for the Feedback, but I think Manish is right that there is no solution for the problem. You can only change the Quick Launch for all and not for a group of people.
Thanks.
Best regards,
Tobias

Tobias,
- As a test try this.
Create a Security Group in Project Server.. name it as "Quick Launch Control"
Under the Group's Global Settings, for the "View" options, select "DENY" for the following:
View Approvals
View Business Intelligence Link
View OLAP Data
View Task Center
View Business Intelligence
View Team Builder
View Timesheets.
Now assign a user to this group, and check their Quick Launch.

Hello Prasanna,
I tried this - I denied the following:
View Approvals
View Business Intelligence Link
View OLAP Data
View Project Center
View Project Schedule Views
View Resource Availabilty
View Resource Center
View Task Center
View Team Builder
View TimesheetsAfter this the testuser has only following links in the Quick Launch:
My Work (Issues and Risks)
Libraries (Shared Documents, Site Pages)
Best regards,

1 marca 2012 17:12So does this bring you any closer to what you are looking for? All you have to do from here is to asssign users the New Group you created!

Hello Tobias
While colleagues have suggested multiple workarounds / options, i think other option you may want to try could be using a Link webpart with audience targetting, which then displays the link based on audience profile, and assuming in backend you are already configuring the security group & categories so that even user hits the link directly in browser he doesn't gets access to it
