Locked OCS 2007 R2 dies after OS patching

    Our OCS 2007 R2 server (W2K8 + SQL 2008) has been working OK for a few months. A few days ago it was patched via Windows Update and as the result all the OCS services (except the application host) failed to start.

    I discovered that many people also experienced this issue due to MS Crypto API security update KB974571. I then uninstalled KB974571.  However, OCS services never came back up. I then applied almost all OCS October 2009 patches.  Also applied ocsasnfix.exe. No Joy. Any idea how to fix this?

      Latest update. The problem has now been resolved.
      For whatever reason, the certificate got clobbered. I recreated and re-assigned the certificate and all services came back up OK.
