Multiple Physical Processors
-
terça-feira, 18 de novembro de 2008 20:12I am looking into building a personal rendering machine, 4 AMD phenom quad core processors, totaling 16 execution cores. I would love to run windows XP 64-bit edition however I have this itching feeling that the license sticker saying 1-2 processors means business and not just a legal issue, but a utilization issue. What version of windows can I run to let me take advantage of all 16 cores? I'm fairly certain the Server versions would work, however I'd like to avoid using that if possible. Otherwise I may end up turning to a copy of Debian.
