I wanted do buy the Microsoft wireless mouse 4000, but now I read several tests on amazon which say that the usb dongle gets very hot and sometimes even melted. Does anyone know if this problem is fixed? My mouse is used the whole day (12 hours) so I need a mouse which can deal with long time using without getting hot.

    Thank you for your help!

Don't bother with any Microsoft Mice.  If something does go wrong (usb dongle melting, mouse click buttons start wearing out, etc.), you'll have to deal with several of the Microsoft support arms, which don't know what each other are doing and will tell you things that may or may not be true between each support arm.

Like paying $70 for a mouse, only to get a $30 mouse or NOTHING in return if something goes wrong with your $70 mouse?

    Hi,

I have owned quite a few Microsoft mice and i have none of them melted on me . But as a general rule of thumb research before buying. If the mouse has alot of people complaining then prehaps its better to avoid it. You may want to see if a new revison of the mouse exists

    Hope this helps
