Alright, I have had this problem for a few months now.

    Computer Information.
    System:
    Microsoft Windows XP
    Professional
    Version 2002
    Service Pack 3

    Computer:
    Intel(R) Pentium(R) M
    processor 1.60GHz
598 MHz, 504 MB of ram

Okay so my computer wont detect any devices. But I know that my slots work because I have a USB Bluetooth stick that lights up when connected and when I connect it, it lights up, but it will not detect.

    I have tried
    Uninstalling the drivers
    Uninstalling the drivers then rebooting
Uninstalling the drivers turning the system off then take out the battery for 15 minutes
    Virus scans
Disk Clean Up (witch lead to deleting my Restore point where it worked)
Updating the drivers witch had no updates
And I have took apart the computer several times to see if something was moved or somthing..

If anyone can help me please help because I'm tired of this problem. I do not have a warranty and I have no money for a System...

    Hi,

This is a bit of a difficult one to diagnose, You could try the following to narrow it down a bit....

    1. Device manager - > are there any unknown devices listed usually with a ? or ! by it

    2. Go to the laptop manufactures website and search for drivers for your model ( I presume given the spec this is a Laptop ? ) What you are looking for is the intel chipset drivers and any other specific patches / or updates that related to usb

3.if you happen to have a bootable usb . you could try booting form usb (this will pinpoint where the problem lies either the hardware of the machine or Windows xP)

    4. If you can access the bios you can check to see what the usb settings are in there.

    Hope this helps
