ZyXel Q1000z and getting remote setup for the Windows Home Server 2011

sexta-feira, 23 de dezembro de 2011 03:50HElP!!!! I am needing help to get me remote setup to work with WHS 2011. I have done port forwarding for 80, 443, and 4125 and no luck.

sexta-feira, 23 de dezembro de 2011 04:18Firstly, as far as Remote access from the Internet is concerned, you actually only need Port 443 forwarded to your Server (for https:// access) and optionally Port 80 (http:// access - albeit the Dashboard will complain that your router is not working if not forwarded but you can still access it with https://). Go to www.grc.com and run ShieldsUp to confirm that the appropriate ports are shown as "Red" as "Open".

sexta-feira, 23 de dezembro de 2011 07:19Thanks for responding. I ran the ShieldsUp and it identified the port 443 as being open it was shown in "Red". This is the only port that was open. Any other thoughts?

If Port 443 is Open, you should be able to access your site from an external location on https://xxx.homeserver.com - have you tried this and what was the result?
As you thought you had forwarded Port 80, but it does not show as "Open" then I assume it shows as "Stealth"? Remote access is set to "On" in the Dashboard?
