    I am deaf myself, and I do not see any option of turning on visual alerts. I am wondering, will the Home Server have some kind of sound alarms or am I not going to miss ANYTHING here?

    Sorry if I have to borrow your "ears" on this :)

      There are some visual alerts, pop-up balloons from the tray icon that gets installed on home PCs. I don't think anything pops up on the WHS desktop, but we aren't intended to use the desktop.
