    I get as far as establing connection and the reomote part can see and hear me, but am not able to see or hear him.

      Some more details will be needed to offer you any assistance.  Are both users internal, or externally connected?  What is your OCS deployment scenario? 2007 or R2? Are you testing a video conversation in Office Communicator or using the Live Meeting client?
