Locked Office Communicator GalContacts.db

    I have an issue with Office Communicator 2007.  I’m able to download the GalContacts.db to the workstation.  When I open the file with notepad it contains our all the employees in our domain (which is good).  However, if I search for a contact using office communicator it will only display employees that are enabled for office communicator or that are located in my local outlook contacts.  I’m not able to search for employees located in my GAL.  I would like to be able to search for any contact located in the GalContacts.db file.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks…

      That behavior is by-design.  Users and information is displayed depending on how the phone numbers are stored in AD (and normialzed by the Address Book Service, if applicable).  Here is some additional details into the process:

        Thanks for the update Jeff.  Your blog was very informative!  I was able to resolve the problem I was having with OCS.  We are currently not following the E.164 standard so the information on your website help a great deal.  I’m not to sure if we’re going to fix all the AD telephone numbers to meet the standard or if I should use expressions.  Anyhow, Thanks for the reply.
