    Discovered that my copy of MS Office is not legit.  Downloaded the Legitcheck.hta and it offers a Office home and student edition and suggests the we get genuine and click Buy Now.  I cannot find a "Buy Now" button anywhere to click.

    You show that you are using a Office XP Pro volume license that is blocked.  I don't think that you would qualify for any type of purchase under the terms for making it legit.  As Office XP is not being sold anymore through Microsoft (copies are available on some web sites but looks like that is how you bought this volume license version anyhow) you would have to purchase a retail full version of Office to make yourself legal (unless you would have a "legal" qualifying upgrade program installed.
     
    This site lists the qualifying upgrade products for Office 2007 and probably will be the same or similar for Office 2010 that is to be released for sale later this month.
     
    You will also have to totally uninstall the pirated version before installing a legal version wherever it is purchased.

    I am reading this to mean that the OP was notified about their nongenuine Office installation.  Their reference to legitcheck.hta is a reference to the plugin that FireFox users need to install to run the OGA messaging that presents the Offers.

    Part of the OGA program is an Offer to Get Genuine with a reduced price copy of Office, and the messaging presented usually gives the person with the nongenuine Office three editions of Office 2007 to choose from.  Sounds like they wanted to buy Office H&S 2007 but they did not see a Buy Now button.

    Hello LVTravel,

    Yes the Office Genuine Offer is extended to those with nongenuine installations of Office, as identified by the OGA Notifications Utility or as identified by Office Validation at www.microsoft.com/genuine.  The OGA system checks for nongenuine installations of Office XP, 2003 and 2007.

    As you noted Office XP is loooong gone, so they are given the choice of purchasing 2007 Office Pro, Small Biz, or H&S.
